Fishtrap Shooting Area 

Fish Trap

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Description: Fishtrap Range is located 3 miles from highway 395. It has very few trees with some sagebrush and rolling hills. The main shooting area has plenty of room for several groups of people. There is a big hill that provides a back stop for bullets. To the North, you can shoot into a little sand pit that has been dug out. Max range is roughly 600yds. There are multiple other spots to shoot around this area, one of them being right when you turn on to Lake Valley Loop Rd. 

Restrictions: No exploding targets. No tracer ammunition. No steel targets. Pack out what you pack in. 

Directions: Take exit 254 off of I90. Head Southeast along Sprague Highway E. Rd. Continue for 2.5 miles and turn West onto Lake Valley Loop Rd. Continue for .6 of a mile and the small road leading to the range will be on the South side. If you've hit the tracks, you've gone too far.

Boggs Pit Shooting Area

Deer Park

 

 

Description: Boggs Pit is 8.5 miles from Deer Park, WA. It is a relatively small shooting area that does not have vehicle access right to where you shoot. You have to park at the gate by the main road and walk twenty to fifty yards to where you can shoot. Max range is around 100yds at this spot. It has a couple different areas to shoot, all with dirt back stop as it is a dug-out gravel pit.  

Restrictions: No exploding targets. No tracer ammunition. No vehicles past the gate. Pack out what you pack in. 

Directions: Take US-395 N., turn East on to N. Dalton Rd. Dalton Rd. will turn into N. Colville Rd. and then back to N. Dalton Rd. Follow N. Dalton Rd. for 4 miles and then turn East onto W. Montgomery Rd. and travel half a mile. Turn North onto N. Sherman Rd. and follow it for 5 miles. On the East side of the road, you will see a gate. The shooting area is behind the gate.

Hayden Creek
Shooting Range

 

 

Description: Hayden Creek Shooting Range is up in the mountains above Hayden Lake, Idaho. It is a small clearing in the woods with a max range of about150yds. The road getting into Hayden Creek can be rough in the fall and spring with mud. Four-wheel drive vehicles are advised. Hayden Creek road is not plowed so it will not be accessible during the winter months.  

Restrictions: Pack out what you pack in. 

Directions: Take exit 289 off of I-90 and head North on N. Pines Rd. Turn East onto WA-290 East/E. Trent Ave. WA-290 will turn into W Highway 53 once in Idaho. Turn Southeast onto N. Greenferry Rd. In 1.5 miles, turn East onto W. Lancaster Rd. W. Lancaster Rd. will turn into E. Hayden Lake Rd. continue on E. Hayden Lake Rd. for 3 miles. Stay on E. Hayden Lake Rd. until it turns into E. Hayden Creek Rd. and follow it for 2 miles. The shooting area will be a big open area on the South side of the road.

Hayden Creek Shooting Range
Helmer, ID

Helmer, ID Shooting Area

 

 

Description: This shooting area is deep in the Idaho woods. It has an area to park and shoot right form your vehicle. You can shoot out to about 100yds into a rocky bluff. The road going in is not maintained and will have limited accessibility during the winter months. There is another shooting area about a half mile up the School House Gulch Rd. on the East side of the road. 

Restrictions: Pack out what you pack in. 

Directions: Take exit 279 from I-90 for US-195 S. toward Colfax/Pullman. Follow for 32 miles. Take the WA-271 S. exit toward Rosalia/Oakesdale. Continue to Oakesdale, and take an East turn onto WA-27 S/Steptoe Ave. Follow for 21.3 Miles until you reach Palouse, WA. Once in Palouse turn east onto E. Main St. and then continue onto WA-272 E/N E St. Once you cross the Idaho border, it will turn into ID-6. Follow ID-6 for 15.2 miles then turn South on ID-9 S. Stay on ID-9 S for 13.4 miles then turn East on to ID-8 E. Follow ID-8 E for 4.8 miles then turn South onto Fsdr 1963/NF-1963/Park Rd. Follow Fsdr 1963 for 2.4 miles then turn East onto Little Bolder Creek Rd. The shooting area will be .2 miles up the road on the North side.

Rock Creek Rd., ID Shooting Area

Rock Creek Rd

 

 

Description: This shooting area is a small, dirt pit off of an Idaho backroad. The dirt pit is only 50yds long so this shooting area would be great for pistol or short-range rifle shooting. You can park right where you shoot. 

Restrictions: Pack out what you pack in. 

Directions: Take exit 279 from I-90 for US-195 S. toward Colfax/Pullman. Follow for 32 miles. Take the WA-271 S. exit toward Rosalia/Oakesdale. Follow Fiedler Rd. for 3.4 miles then turn West onto Rock Creek Rd. Follow Rock Creek Rd. for 3.4 Miles and the shooting area will be on the East side of the road.
